Twelve years I worked both Saturdays and Sundays. Got Tuesdays and Wednesdays off.
Then there was a stretch of that twelve years where we had to do three months solid. No days off! Yes, it's legal even today.
Normally it was ten hour days with as much as 64 hours a week. The last is double overtime.
Thing about that job is it's three weeks paid vacation with some getting over a month depending on seniority. Every five years you got three more days, upto 20 years seniority.
BTW this was in southern California. Not some place like Alaska. I hear the pay is better there for the same type of job in Alaska though.
