It’s almost Monday

It’ll be a long week ahead. My colleague is getting married and I don’t have a date. They kept bringing up that I should go out and meet people. Easier said than done.

I think it would be far worse to bring someone you barely know to a wedding than it would to turn up on your own.

@helsbels Exactly! I think this idea of bringing "dates" to weddings is ridiculous.

@Fluffybull It's one of those clichès that only seems to exist to me in relation to US tv shows and rom coms, the same way everyone is always obsessed with 'making partner' at the company 🤣

@helsbels Hollywood does have a huge influence on people’s lives. They create unrealistic expectations in people’s heads.

Did you see The Wedding Date? You can do what they did in the movie
Menetics · 26-30, F
@Dan193 No, not yet! I’ll check it out :)

Why do they bring up that you should go out and meet people? Tell them to mind their own business 👀

It'll be a long ass week for me as well. Tomorrow I have an exam in mathematics, on wednesday I have my driving test that will determine if I will get my drivers license, on thursday I have a meeting with a teacher to represent our project, and immediately afterwards I have a group meeting where we will discuss our final reports in a different course with other groups.

This weekend, if I will pass at least the driver thingie and the exam, will be legendary. If not, it will maybe be the worst weekend ever. lol

@MartinTheFirst I rather not create conflict in the workplace. I’ll leave the company maybe this year or next year.

@Menetics Bahumbug! Workplace is filled with conflicts, as long as it's reasonable it's okay.
Menetics · 26-30, F
@MartinTheFirst Let's just say that I got into a conflict with a colleague and the boss blamed me for his mistake. I’ll just leave. I already asked someone I know for a recommendation for the company they’re working for.
