I would become a professional genealogist, instead of an advance amateur. One of the thrills of doing that, would be travel to other countries to look at records.

@Stereoguy Yes, it is. In fact, when my father's cousin died, with a million dollar estate, and her one designated heir had predeceased her, the state attorney's office in charge of disposing the estate hired a professional genealogy company, and they contacted me. I still remember I was in the emergency room in the hospital when they called and asked me if I knew my father's cousin. It was this genealogy search company which provided the attorneys with the names of every single one of the heirs and their relationship to my father's cousin.
