The No Kings protests around DC will be a great way to celebrate Americas 250th.

Freedom of speech has disappeared under the Trump Regime. It has been replaced by far right extremism, corruption, lies, and kidnapping of US citizens for deportation to illegal ICE holding facilities across the US.
@SW-User Keep waiting.

I care that the country is being run by a white supremacist who is trying to take us back to the U.S. I was born into, where "Separate but Equal" was still largely the law of the land, where redlining and voter suppression was a fact of life in many places here.

NO, I’m not calm about the possibility of losing my civil rights at this late stage of life, nor am I okay about seeing the young people in my family have to go through what my generation did in the process of encouraging this country to live up to its promises.

But I’m guessing you’re privileged and have no idea what I’m talking about. Not an insult, merely an observation—why would you need to care ? If you’re MAGA, your real objective is MAWA.

Like I said, enjoy your Klan meeting.
@bijouxbroussard Bye, then.

@bijouxbroussard you did exactly what i said you would. If you genuinely believe any of that I'm sorry for you but I'm still going to mock you

It took me less time to learn how to pronounce Gianni’s antetonkoumpos name than it did to pronounce that .

I agree. Unfortunately, watch how many people do their best to ruin the happiness and pride so many of us feel towards our country.

@carpediem Fully expecting this. How did we get to the point where one of our political parties hate the country they serve.
carpediem · M
@Gibbon Control. They want control and to convert the US from capitalism to socialism. They hate the way the country is now. The scary part is the democrtas have moved so far to the left, that many people with tribalistic tendencies go along with whatever they are espousing.

It is interesting to see that issues from 50 years ago still haunt us in 2026. (complied by ai)

Major issues in the United States in 1976 (concise list)
Politics and trust: ongoing fallout from Watergate and Nixon’s pardon (public distrust of government); the 1976 presidential campaign (Carter vs. Ford).
Economy: high inflation and stagnant growth (stagflation), rising unemployment and energy concerns after the 1973–74 oil shocks.
Vietnam aftermath and veterans’ issues: national trauma and reintegration after the 1975 fall of Saigon; debates over amnesty for draft evaders.
Foreign policy tensions: Cold War détente and arms-control talks with the USSR; Middle East instability; relations with China evolving.
Social movements and civil rights: ongoing struggles for women’s rights, gay rights, Native American activism, and racial equality.
Government reform and oversight: post-Watergate reforms and new transparency/ethics measures (e.g., campaign finance and oversight changes).
Cultural mood and identity: 1976 Bicentennial influenced debates about national identity, nostalgia, and healing after Vietnam.

I believe the current political climate in our nation has become more divided. All the more reason to pray that providential hand of God to continue to guide and sustain us, and to grant us peace.
