Have you had any memorable July 4ths?

I vividly remember July 4th, 1976. I was down the Jersey shore with my parents and younger brother, and my grandparents(dad's side) were also there, one motel over. We were facing the ocean, and I had a small plate of fried chicken which I ate as we saw the huge fireworks display.

Of those people, only my mother, brother, and I remain today. But it was Bicentennial Fever all over, everyone wore red, white, and blue. I couldn't fully appreciate it at the time, but I realize that I was so blessed. Still am, actually.

List some memorable July 4ths of yours!

2006, but not for a good reason. It was the last time I was trusted to load the mortar cannon ever.

I put the mortar in upside down.

Fortunately, nobody was hurt, but only because I knew how to sprint.

@robertsnj I think so. I'm just glad that I'll live to see it.
