I hate 4th of July

Fireworks are the worst. Every 4th I am reminded how callous and thoughtless people are. The fireworks not only trigger PTSD for lots of people, it disrupts wildlife, endangers the environment, and injure lots of people.

True. The only legal fireworks displays here are by the city, set off in specific areas and carefully monitored, within specific hours, that people can come to watch.

Other than that, they’re not allowed—which stops no one.

Police traditionally spend the day citing people for illegal fireworks, firefighters put out resulting fires, EMTs treat resulting injuries.

That doesn’t even address the folks who mark the day by shooting off weapons. 😳
