today’s Friday Sermon
We will all face the consequences of our actions, no matter how small. Both in this world and in the Hereafter. Right now, in this life, is our only chance to do good deeds. Once we die, we can no longer take action, we’ll only witness the results, whether they’re good, or may God protect us, bad.
We must remember that the time we’ll spend in the Hereafter is eternal, while our time to do good in this world is very short. That’s why we should focus on doing deeds that continue to benefit others even after we're gone, ongoing charity.
Some examples of these lasting good deeds include: learning and teaching beneficial knowledge, managing rivers and water sources, freeing wells or springs, planting trees, building places of worship, writing or passing on useful books, and raising righteous children who will pray for us.
