When was the last time you've asked your employer for a salary raise?

I had my last performance review 2 months ago and I voiced my concern of excessive workloads not matching my salary. I am working 5 hours plus daily at home playing catch-up.

My manager has no backbone and a yes person to our GM. I have spoken to my manager about this issue and nothing has come out of it.

Last Friday, I emailed our General Manager and outline the reasons why I need a pay rise. I checked my email and he schedule an appointment to discuss my concern tomorrow morning. Fingers and toes cross for a pay rise.
The only time anyone got a raise at my company was to threaten to quit. If they didn't think the threat was real they wouldn't give the raise. Management was getting raises by holding other people back. One thing they absolutely hated was when a person would compare what they were doing with other employees. They would say instead of doing all that by yourself you should be teaching the other people. People who could care less if the job got done.
@Pitchblue
A lot of companies are like that.
@Random1Thoughts I was the 3rd employee and thought they might have some respect but Nope. Just one more person to make a profit on.

My raises are automatic, thankfully.

Good on you for getting the meeting. Just be firm and remember - you don't have to work unpaid overtime. If they don't value your labour you can withdraw it.
@CountScrofula
That's the plan and I'm sticking to it.

I did something similar. I did get a raise.
@MrBrownstone
I'm tired of waiting and decided to go directly to the top.

@Random1Thoughts I talked to my boss first. He said he couldn’t do anything about it and talk to HR. I had a meeting and got a raise.

Not too long ago actually. They’re giving me a raise of sorts but it’s no enough. The shit I do for this company is more than they deserve.
