It's bee below zero... and in the single digits for three weeks.. I asked a question on google are we heading towards the next ice age not sure you want me to tell you what i read.....

@masterofyou Ugh. As if it isn't bad enough that groundhog saw his shadow, but something additional...
That wives tale is about as credible as Google, lol. Maybe even more so.😏
However, I wouldn't doubt us going through some sort of event where a calamity with weather is concerned. Do tell us the results though. 😉

@moonlightlullaby The results are , "The Earth’s climate is directly tied to its axial tilt. As our planet orbits the sun, it does so at a slight incline, or tilt, relative to the sun. This tilt ranges from 22.1 to 24.5 degrees over a cycle of about 41,000 years. When the tilt is greater, the Earth experiences more variance in climate and extreme seasonal changes."
"One of the key factors in Earth’s climate oscillations are Milankovitch cycles. These cycles are a series of periodic variations in Earth’s orbital eccentricity, axial tilt, and precession. They have a profound effect on Earth’s long-term climate patterns, including the onset and duration of ice ages."
"Scientific evidence suggests that Earth is gradually tilting, hinting at another ice age. This tilt influences the amount of solar energy the Earth receives, which ultimately determines the planet’s climate. A decrease in solar energy due to an increase in tilt can result in colder weather."
"For instance, sediment cores from the ocean floor show patterns consistent with Milankovitch cycles. These patterns suggest that the Earth is currently in a phase of its cycle that would typically precede an ice age. Moreover, studies of ice cores from Antarctica show similar indications of a shift towards colder conditions."
Not my words just what I read..... So much for global warming
There is a book form an author, can't remember his name, entitled " Not by fire but by Ice" i will look up the book and give out the author's name...

Same here, winter has been a long, bleak year.
moonlightlullaby · 46-50, F
@RodneyTrotter1 It has been pretty brutal.

@kodiac Oh my heavens, I can't take it. I already don't " Winter " much, but have been more of a hermit this year than ever. At least I'm lucky to have the choice. I sure hope you don't work outside.
kodiac · 22-25, M
@moonlightlullaby I do work outside but most of the time in a heated bobcat!
moonlightlullaby · 46-50, F
@kodiac That's really kind that they provide one with heat. I'm so glad you have that luxury. I feel sorry for anyone that has to work outside in either element. Hopefully it has AC too. 🙌🙏
Dude same

My bones are still cold and feeling old. Need spring to be sprung.
moonlightlullaby · 46-50, F
@Sojournersoul I feel you, buddy. I've taken more meds this Winter just sitting in the house with two blankets. The days I do leave aren't pleasant. I hope it springs soon to soothe your poor bones
Sojournersoul · M
@moonlightlullaby I want the warmth of spring to shine on your face and warm you to the core.
forestG · 46-50, F
It can't come soon enough
moonlightlullaby · 46-50, F
@forestG No it can't, my moon sister. As much as I love our beloved moon, I'm ready for lots of sunshine. There's a poem I used to love that (I think) correlates with our wishes. If my thinker is right, I'll share it.
SageWanderer · 70-79, M
Today’s half way between the Winter Solstice and Spring Equinox so it is getting closer!
moonlightlullaby · 46-50, F
@SageWanderer Thank goodness 😌
