are you or were you the type of person who would have attended the woodstock music festival in 1969?

had i been alive then i would have. i probably would have been one of the people freaking out over the public announcement telling people not to take the brown acid 😵‍💫

Yes, I am the type of person who would have attended Woodstock in the "Summer of `69"!

Regardless of what I was doing at the time, I would have skipped off school and taken a bus to be at that once in a lifetime love-fest at all cost! ❤‍🔥 🫂

@swirlie they didn't know it would be once in a lifetime at the time, lol!
swirlie · 31-35
@samueltyler2
...neither did you!
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@swirlie of course. I missed it because I was too busy studying and taking care of sick.kids.
swirlie · 31-35
@samueltyler2
...the concert is behind you but sick kids are still here. What happened?
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@swirlie i was a resident on pediatrics 1967-1970.

@samueltyler2
...yeah, so what?

Woodstock was a 3-day scheduled weekend event that was held in a farm field that lasted 4 days because of rainy weather and subsequent muddy conditions. Those who arrived on the Friday went home on Monday. When all was said and done, it was only a 72 hour music festival which is what it was billed as from the outset.

Were you thinking that the party at Woodstock was a 3 week long seminar on adult studies or a summertime retreat for the rich and famous or something?
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@swirlie no, but i worked every other day, every other weekend. Either i worked Thursday morning until Saturday morning or Saturday morning until Monday night, we stayed in the hospital. I really shouldn't have to explain why i couldn't attend.
swirlie · 31-35
@samueltyler2
You missed Woodstock `69 because you chose to miss it, that's why!

You're not explaining anything to anybody!
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@swirlie you know, your arrogance leads me to wonder why i ever even discuss things with you. you are always right. Yes, sure, i would have abandoned my job as a resident to go up to a music festival in NY. Sure!
swirlie · 31-35
@samueltyler2
This is not about me Sam, so don't make it about me!

Had you chosen to spend the weekend at Woodstock, it would not have changed the outcome of your career path, I can pretty much assure you of that!
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@swirlie they would have thrown me out on my residency and i would have had no medical career. Really great thinking.
swirlie · 31-35
@samueltyler2
The reason you missed Woodstock was because you chose to miss Woodstock, just like I said in the first place!

It was not because you were forced against your will into doing some residency stint while studying medicine, it was because you chose to miss Woodstock because of what you 'thought' would happen if you attended Woodstock instead.

The decision you made to miss Woodstock was driven by fear, not by proven fact. That's my point.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@swirlie either you really have no idea what you are taking about, or you are just attempting to get me Angry, have a great day.
swirlie · 31-35
@samueltyler2
Sam, this is what you wrote in the very beginning, none of which has any relevancy to the OP's question just for the record, okay?

I was too busy being trained in medicine at the time. I wish I had
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@swirlie go away. You have no idea what things i gave up for my career.
swirlie · 31-35
@samueltyler2
...and you have no idea what you did NOT experience when you chose to NOT attend the Woodstock concert of 1969!

Your career and what you did for a living has absolutely NOTHING to do with the OP's question, ffs's!

He asked a question that ONLY requires a 'yes' or 'no' answer!
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@swirlie forget it. You know where you can go.
swirlie · 31-35
@samueltyler2
I'm not going anywhere! I'm not leaving your waiting room! I have insurance!
