Concert Last Night

Last Night, i saw Bonnie Raitt. what a great artist. She is 75 yrs old btw. when she sang Angels From Montgomery by John Prine, it almost made me cry. It was so beautiful.

THEN she started ranting at least 3 times about politics. I think she forgot she was in Trump Country REALLY close to him.

I respect her opinion but i paid to see her sing, not hear her rant about politics. i will post her pics from my phone. [media=https://youtu.be/toJ3ZYWRh24]

This is why Michael Jordan never discusses politics. He said that Republicans also buy his sneakers.

@Barefooter25 we insure his business btw...i have been there

I like her artistry and agree about her keeping her pie hole shut about politics.....she's a great guitarist though, ...I'm remunded she's from the Woodstock generation when protest against the establishment was part of many great bands....
akindheart · 61-69, F
@mainvane she even plays the organ/keyboard

Any business person who is vocal about their politics will piss off half their customers.

Music is a business.
akindheart · 61-69, F
@Crazywaterspring I know right? and she was right down the road from Mar a lago no less.
Heartlander · 80-89, M
You are kidding? 75??? If she she is 75 then I would be in my eighties? Oh GOD!!!

Seriously, we almost caught Raitt and Prine together like 20 years ago. The Austin City Limits annual shindig. Daughter was living in Austin then and we had tickets to catch Raitt, Prine, Lucinda Williams and Lyle Lovett on the same stage.

But then one of those massive hurricanes hit the Houston area and sent everyone running, and ACL see-sawed on cancelling everything, and we decided to not contribute to the confusion :(
akindheart · 61-69, F
@Heartlander omg.. . what a line up that would have been. i was going to say nothing but a natural disaster would have stopped me...LOL
Heartlander · 80-89, M
@akindheart They had called for a Houston evacuation, and that turned into everyone fleeing north or west ... to Austin, San Antonio, etc. Until the day or so before they were see-sawing over cancelling it to free up hotel/motel accommodations. I think it was the year Lucinda had a bit of an on stage melt-down that got a bit of attention. Some of her songs have complicated lead ins and there was a bit of out of sync requiring a start over.
some folks are great artists, but otherwise, they aint got a damn clue. that goes for alot of my favorites as well. LOL
akindheart · 61-69, F
