In less than two weeks I will be 74

This is a matter of amazement for me.

Older just keeps happening. I must have thought it would stop or at least pause, but no.

It’s like being on an old sliding board in some abandoned playground. It’s not smooth and it’s rusted, but with many a jolt and scary bump (is it finally breaking?), you shudder and startle and at last arrive at the bottom, and people swarm around you yelling, “Happy birthday!!!”

What, again?

I am being serious here but does there come an age when aging is less shocking?

I am 50 and I think, "Where the f*** did most of my life go?"

How can we be little kids acting rowdy one day and then the next, here we are with the scars of life?

One good thing I suppose is people do not try to BS us as much.
@Punches Oh, surprisingly, they still try to sell the manure. The difference is you’re not buying it anymore.

@Mamapolo2016 🤔 ehh you have a point. We just IMMEDIATELY register it with the "manure".

@Punches For me, the most problematic milestone was turning 50. After that, it got easier. When I turned 70, I actually thought that was hilarious!
@DrWatson It is hilarious.

@DrWatson I just keep having thoughts of "what are we suppose to be doing at this point in life?" and just this blaring thought of "what comes after?"

I don't know. One time when I was 40, some guy on the radio said, "40 is the old age of youth and the youth of old age." 40 seems like only last week.

@Mamapolo2016 I should probably say "Happy Birthday". 🙂
You may very well have another 26 ones to look forward to.
@Punches 😂 is that a threat?

@Mamapolo2016 😄 ahh it would not be so bad.

If you have kids, someone needs to stick around to aggravate them. Is that not our lifelong duty as parents? 😁
@Punches Aggravating the person who may well select your nursing home is not smart. Besides, my ex is so wildly over-the-top aggravating that he’s a tough act to follow. I want her to see me as The Tolerable Parent.

@Mamapolo2016 Well there is typically the "Cool" parent and then the "difficult" one.
