What historical events would people say are fake news if the tinfoil hat/banjo crowd lived through them.

“That Hitler, he didn’t really invade Poland…”

Or “Columbus lied about a New World, it’s all water and sea monsters”

@hippyjoe1955 says
Well leftists deny that Hitler was a socialist so there is that.
More bullllshit from dippyjoe!!

In Germany in the 1930s,
the Nazis bitterly opposed the Social Democrats;
the Nazis bitterly opposed the Socialists;
the Nazis bitterly opposed the Trade Unionists;
and the Nazis bitterly opposed the Communists.

When I say "bitterly opposed" it means the Nazis sent brownshirt thugs to disrupt rallies and fight in the streets against their political opponents. The Nazis were a reactionary party reacting against the left wing in Germany at the time. The Nazis built their platform on racism, nationalism, and fear of the foreign.

@ElwoodBlues Socialism leftism has two ideas that amount to the same thing. One of them thinks that there should be an all powerful one world government. The other believes in an all powerful national government. Notice the similarity? An all powerful government. Silly you are on the wrong side of history but then again you are consistently wrong so I don't expect anything different.
@hippyjoe1955 I don't believe in either of those things. And none of my fellow progressives do either. Your pigeonholing failed. You just don't understand modern politics so you claim everything you misunderstand is "nazi."
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@ElwoodBlues Yeah you believe in the power of the state so much that you wanted to have everyone vaxed because the 'government' said so. If you are not a socialist then you are what a socialist might call a useful idiot.
@hippyjoe1955 You're trying to change the subject away from Nazism because you lost that debate, LOL!!!

@ElwoodBlues Yeah the social democrats were not socialist enough for the nazis. Son you really have to get a grip on the world around you. You have no sense of history or science or political philosophy. Strange that you keep showing your ignorance as you do.
@hippyjoe1955 On May 2, 1933, Adolf Hitler’s storm troopers occupied all trade union headquarters across Germany, and union leaders were arrested and put in prison or concentration camps. Many were beaten and tortured. All of the unions’ funds – in other words, the workers’ money – were confiscated. Former union officials were put on blacklists, preventing them from finding work.

The Great Depression had spurred increased state ownership in most Western capitalist countries. This also took place in Germany during the last years of the Weimar Republic.[41] However, after the Nazis took power, industries were privatized en masse. Several banks, shipyards, railway lines, shipping lines, welfare organizations, and more were privatized.[42] The Nazi government took the stance that enterprises should be in private hands wherever possible.[43] State ownership was to be avoided unless it was absolutely necessary for rearmament or the war effort, and even in those cases "the Reich often insisted on the inclusion in the contract of an option clause according to which the private firm operating the plant was entitled to purchase it."[43]

Translation: Hitler hated unions and loved privately owned industry - the polar opposite of a socialist!!!

@hippyjoe1955 you dont understand the meaning and any of these words like"socialism, fascism, nationalism, democracy, republic, nationalism or communism...
you keep using words and have no idea what those words mean. its entirely impossible to have an argument with you if you lack the total basics.
its like trying to explain analysis to someone who doesnt even understand multiplication.

@Madgirl Sounds like you are conducting a self diagnosis but carry on. Remember socialism has a 100% failure rate. I bet you think that is because it just wasn't implemented right as the millions of dead victims will testify.
@hippyjoe1955 Think so?
