Wow what a day... It's been huge. It's time to reflect a bit.
I woke up today at 7am and head out to the drivers test shortly after. I was met with a slightly chilly and rainy morning.
Then I "drove up" (taking the drivers test) as we call it in Sweden. It was scary, but easier than I had anticipated. The night before I had rehersed the entire protocol for checking every safety feature of the car accordingly, but he pretty much skipped over that entire step and simply had me test the breaks before driving off. The rest of the journey was smooth sailing. Many times I ended up in situations where I had done something wrong when practicing and I knew exactly what to do to avoid that outcome now. There was one point where I didn't know if I needed to make the turn or not but I went with my gut feeling, it was the correct decision because if I hadn't I definitely wouldn't have passed the test. Once we were finished I felt like I had passed it, and he told me that my ID now works as a drivers licence until I get my new one. It was a bit anticlimatic once he told me 😅
But I was about to be hyped up by my parents big time. First thing that happens is that I get a call from my dad to congratulate me, and I call my mother to tell her the big news. She said her patient started crying when they heard the news because she found it so sweet and typical how a boy calls their mother the first thing after something big happens.
When I got home my father had bought me an amazing shrimp sandwich, like it was absolutely perfect. I couldn't have done it better myself. 🤤
Then we went out to buy some chinese food and I got some super tasty yakitori chicken skewers (More than is shown in the picture).
Then my parents completely blew me out of the water with cake and presents as a celebration, I didn't expect them to congratulate me this much 🥰😭 It was a chocolate and passion fruit cake.
They had bought me a tiny cute mortar and pestle, and gave me a cute card that I will save with the rest of my memories. <3
Some super fancy marble and gold plated silver coasters. Oo shiny 😳
And an electric fondue set for my apartment. 😍
And honestly I can not even fathom all of this affection they gave me today, I love my parents so much.
