why do so many of the british public seem to be against the BBC now

british broadcasting corporation? i'm seeing a lot of british people on youtube who are really condemning the bbc now and have turned against it, it seems, many calling them the british 'pedo' organization...i think because of that jimmy saville scandal some time ago.

i as a british person wouldn't go that far, the bbc was great in the 1970s and 1980s, it was a respected british institution then, so i just think it needs reforming to get it back to the way it was and not a foreign woke organization as it is today.

any options on it?

The Jimmy Saville scandal, Rolf Harris scandal, and proven sexual offences committed by various other light entertainment and childrens presenters employed by the BBC, mainly occured in the 1970s and 1980s. The BBC was popular then, perhaps due to lack of alternative entertainment options, but this was not a great era unless you are a fan of sexual exploitation by famous people.

A lot of people have antipathy towards the BBC today because ir is one of the few serious media outlets remaining. It seeks to hold the powerful to account and expose lies and misinformation. That makes a lot of folk uncomfortable. Which is a good thing.
