It's a bargain compared to Trump's Iran 🤣

@emiliya Your title speaks of billions (I am assuming dollars rather than lives) spent by Europe, not Ukraine or Russia. One country declared war. It is within the power of that country to end the war.

@SunshineGirl Do you not know that hundreds of billions are being sunk into Ukraine? What do you think about it? We know about Trump's Iran. We now need to talk about Europe's Ukraine.
So talk about Europe's Ukraine.
So talk about Europe's Ukraine.

@emiliya War is a depressing waste of public resources (taxes and manpower) that could be more constructively used for just about anything else. However, without international law and territorial integrity there is nothing else. Which is why, unfortunately, enhanced defence spending must remain Europe's priority. Trump has no such justification in Iran. Hence my aside that Ukraine is a "bargain".

The difference is that Iraq wasn't a threat to America. Russia is a threat to Europe.

Yes, of course, Boo-Boo... Htler would have been only too happy to have the West stand by and do nothing while he built a Lebensraum empire in the East, perhaps extending to the Urals.
But Britain and France were not so stu pid as to let Nazi Germany become so powerful.
And it had long been basic British policy not to let a continental power to become too powerful in Europe; hence, for example, the British alliance with Russia, Austria and Prussia against Napoleon.

Have the internet restrictions been lifted now to enable you to post? Or do you have privileged access?

It's either war with austerity or the population takes over and it's socialism. You remember "Better Dead than Red"?
emiliya · 26-30, F
@Roundandroundwego I think “Better Dead than West.” Who wants that garbage coming to their door?

War is an expensive business
I bet you didn't post that when the black clouds were floating over St Petersburg at the start (and finish) of Putin's flagship economic forum.?

@emiliya
Of course you prefer Ukraine as it was, when it was under Russia's thumb.
Unfortunately for you, the Ukrainians never cared much for the Russians.
