Singlehandedly burned Pollievre's lead in Canada with the dumb tariff thing, singlehandedly restored the France-German axis in Europe specifically on the topic of getting the EU out of the US defensive umbrella and Ukraine.

I remember when the CDU/CSU were considered the right wingers.

I shared a hostel room with two Germans in 1981. I think Thatcher and Reagan had both been in power for a year or so.

The Germans were extremely pessimisitic about the prospect of CDU/CSU getting into power at their next election, won by Helmut Kohl in 1982.
