If that's "innovation" they can keep it lmao.
I want a phone that runs the app *I* decided to install on it; that gets charged with a standard cable (possible that I already have, without forcing me to have 8165 chargers dispersed at home), that respects my privacy, that is repairable and that isn't a useless brick once the parent company arbitrarily decides to no longer "shpport" it (forcing you to buy another in ~5yrs).
That's what EU regulations are for.

So, "innovation" means that Apple gets to force you to use their own proprietary apps that are a generation behind what other independent companies are doing, and lock you out of using anything better?

The EU is leading the West in trying to reassert privacy rights.
You might want to look at the reality of the so-called "PATRIOT" Act.

If you mean protecting the user!
EU has rules and that’s good
I don’t see innovation being killed

Is that regulations or apple being a corporate bully?
justanothername · 51-55, M
Yes, which is why the EU as a whole has been left behind by US companies.

By innovation, you mean apps shoved down my throat?
