@22Michelle Michelle, we know that Sharia law does not supersede British law,
but the Muslim communities do in fact have many "Councils" where they dispense
Sharia law, to the Muslim communities. Most Muslims use these Councils for legal
disputes, divorces, etc... We have the same thing in the states, mostly in Michigan
and Minnesota.

@DogMan If you want to quibble you can make the claim there are some Sharia Councils. Howe, they have no legal standing znd have no control over areas. They have the same legal standing as Catholic Ecclesiastical Courts or similar Jewish institutions. The claim of areas controlled by Sharia law is twaddle promulgated by right wing extremists, mostly in the USA, and occasionally by Fartrag here in the UK.
And yes, people spouting utter bollocks does annoy me, especially when two minutes research disproves the claim.

@22Michelle Michelle my Bell, They do in fact have control over the Muslim population
that believes in Sharia law. That is the point. They are compelled by the Muslim
Brotherhood to NOT use British Law. When these Muslims have a legal dispute.
they use the many "Councils" in the UK. I believe there are 80, give or take.

They also dole out there own punishments. The smart ones get out, but women
are forced to do what they are told.

the UK since 1982. You should be ashamed that you hide from this. But don't feel too
bad, as we have it on the rise in the U.S. too.

Please note the last sentence. Sharia is operating in tandem with the British
legal system.

An estimated 85 Sharia councils could be operating in Britain, according to a 2009 report by the think tank Civitas.

Several bodies like the Islamic Sharia Council have seen a large increase in their cases in the past five years.

''Our cases have easily more than tripled over the past three to five years," says Sheikh al-Haddad.

''On average, every month we can deal with anything from 200 to 300 cases. A few years ago it was just a small fraction of that.

''Muslims are becoming more aligned with their faith and more aware of what we are offering them,'' he explained.

The principles of Sharia govern all aspects of a Muslim's life. It is derived from a combination of sources including the Koran, the Hadith, which is based on the example of the prophet Muhammad, and fatwas, which are rulings of Islamic scholars.

@DogMan Civitas is an extreme right wing "think tank" that won't reveal its funding. It is based in Tufton Street with similar extreme right wing organisations. It is not a credible source for information on things such as whether Sharia law is being practised in the UK.
