Is the EU rejecting the Progressive movement?

Undoubtedly however, the star on a stunning electoral night was the National Rally party of Marine Le Pen, which dominated the French polls to such an extent that Macron immediately dissolved the national parliament and called for new elections to start later this month. It was a massive political risk since his party could suffer more losses, hobbling the rest of his presidential term that ends in 2027.

Le Pen was delighted to accept the challenge. “We’re ready to turn the country around, ready to defend the interests of the French, ready to put an end to mass immigration,” she said, echoing the rallying cry of so many far-right leaders in other countries who were celebrating substantial wins

I don't know why it is considered FAR RIGHT to oppose unfettered illegal
immigration.

@DogMan Shows you don’t understand simple logic
History is repeating itself
DogMan · 61-69, M
@Strictmichael75 And what history do you believe will be repeated? Are you talking
about all the Anti-Semitism? Yes, that is a problem, but that is coming from the
progressive left. But you may be right, the progressives may come back to power
and become the new Nazi party. Time will tell.

@Strictmichael75 Really, are they calling for Intifada with the far left?
Strictmichael75 · 61-69, M
@DogMan I live in France and the far left are not calling for intifada
The far right certainly are
DogMan · 61-69, M
@Strictmichael75 Well, they must be in cahoots with the far left progressives
in the U.S. Because ALL Conservative/Republicans in America are Pro Israel.
And Anti-terrorist.

@DogMan stop confusing religion and politics
Israel is run at the moment by an extreme right leader
Palestine is run by a man from Hamas
Both wanting war
Thinkerbell · 41-45, F
@Strictmichael75

"Both wanting war"

Wrong.

Every one of Israel's wars since its re-inception in 1948 was started (and — fortunately — lost) by Israel's enemies, no matter what party was in power in Israel.
@Thinkerbell The war was initially helping Bibi stay in power.
Thinkerbell · 41-45, F
@SomeMichGuy

And so Bibi made Hamas attack on October 7th...? 🙄
@Thinkerbell No, but that wasn't the question.

I don't think he directly made Hamas attack, but Israel's ongoing actions in how they have handled relations with the Palestinians have helped Hamas grow. And the Israeli government, Netanyahu's government, ignored Israeli intelligence warnings, which seems a bit off.

He benefitted in the typical fashion which leaders often do (incl. Putin through war w/Ukraine, North Korea depending upon "external threats", etc.)‐‐making people look more externally and pay less attention internally.

@SomeMichGuy

"... but Israel's ongoing actions in how they have handled relations with the Palestinians have helped Hamas grow."

There was a UN-sponsored two-state solution back in 1948, but the Palestinians and their sponsors wanted no part of it, nor have they ever since wanted anything except a one-state solution from the river to the sea.

The Palestinians can afford to lose 100 wars; Israel cannot afford to lose even one, or there will be no more Israel, as its current enemies in Iran have so eloquently made clear.

@DogMan What about these conservatives? Think they’re pro-Israel?

(Sin Million Wasn’t Enough is the acronym here-guess which historical event that logo is referring to?)

DogMan · 61-69, M
@SW-User I would be willing to bet that they ARE in fact Pro-Israel,
and Anti Hamas. Have you been seeing them somewhere? Are they infiltrating the
Pro-Hamas protests going on around the country?

@DogMan Le Pen has tried to moderate her image but don’t forget that her father was a Nazi supporter and she inherited his mantle.
SW-User
@DogMan Nope. Seen at Trump rallies and insurrection. And it’s kind of a stretch to assume that anybody unfurling a Nazi flag would ever be Pro-Israel.
DogMan · 61-69, M
@SW-User You are correct, Jew haters and Nazis go hand in hand.

That's why I figured they would be part of the current protests, do you know for a
fact, that they are NOT currently protesting, with the other Jew haters?
BigGuy2 · 31-35, M
@Strictmichael75 ... Now that your DeNero style unhinged rant is over, let's see 🤔

Trump ... never been convicted in his life of anything - then as soon as he runs for President 96 separate charges are levelled against him - how much did the Judges daughter make, or generate off the back of her fathers case against Trump 🤔 $92 MILLION

... that and other issues are what he's had to be dealing with due to you LibTURD nutjobs thirst for staying in Power -
