Why can't white Americans legally return to any of their ancestral homelands in Europe?

I get racism and ethnic purity, but what is inferior and unacceptable about whites? No right to return? You lose your history and somebody else owns it? Why?

If you can show that you are Irish it’s far easier to move there. I’m not familiar with other countries however.

@ImplodingVoices it's technically true for Italians, too, but that's only in theory. The line for having your "right" to citizenship jure sanguinis never seems to move forward.

@DazzaTheHutt no. Going to Africa with the right to stay indefinitely is different from booking a vacation in Kenya. I'm sure similar sadness awaits everyone who tries to reconnect.
