It would. Thats is the plan China and Saudi Arabia are hatching now. To have the $US replaced as the reserve currency for trade.. When thats idea really takes off, the value of the $US will plummet.😷
Thank you for the Best Comment..... I only wish I had got it with something more positive..

@whowasthatmaskedman Yes this is the plan and has been the agenda in the background all along

@Longleggedlady Now ask yourself what happens to US domestic inflation if the price of all imports doubles in a single quarter,,😷

@whowasthatmaskedman I am not American and Perhaps I am one of those working on the plan to make it a reality.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@Longleggedlady Neither am I. At this point I dont think it can end well for America on many levels.😷

@whowasthatmaskedman You have actually found the objective of the plan.
At the moment let's use oil asan example.
Regardless of which country you are to purchase oil you have to convert your country's currency into dollars via an American bank then pay for your oil, regardless of who you buy it from. Fir that country then to get there own currency they have to convert via a US again. Both countries get charged for this facility, plus the dollar dictates the value of each of their currencies.
About 580 trillion dollars in oil alone.
Remove the dollar and you can trade directly with each other and with who you choose to get the best deal.
What is being proposed is complete system of free trade where nobody can dictate who you can trade with, things like sanctions will simply not be effective anymore.

@Longleggedlady And this deal you describe was put in place precisely because the US currency was backed with Gold after WW2. But it isnt now. So the Saudis backed a scheme called "Petrodollars" which essentially used a formula to link the $US to Saudi Oil.. This worked fine foe the artabs until recently, when China emerged as a bigger, (frankly more reliable) customer for Saudi oil and the Saudis will move to the Yuan for their oil..And use the Yuan for purchases from China.. So the US loses the business. Thats akin to a stock broker losing a major fund buying and selling.. Pretty soon the Chinese will b e offering loyalty discounts to people who purchase in their currency. And at that point the only thing holiding the value of the $US up will be nothing..😷

@whowasthatmaskedman It is not just oil I used that as an example the idea is to remove the dollar from all the commodities even things like wheat etc are traded in dollars.
Basically completely de-dollarize the whole lot

@Longleggedlady The issue there is that the strongest trader will always want the home ground advantage with their currency.. That used to be America. It isnt now..

@whowasthatmaskedman
The two individual countries will be free to trade in either of their local currencies like you mentioned China and Saudi can if they choose use the Yuan or the Saudi currency that is up to them what they both no longer need to do is to convert to dollars and use a US bank anymore.

@Longleggedlady I understand your position, although I cant see a powerful nation giving up its position.. China has alreade established a precedent of insisting on its own Yuan as the trade currency. But either they win by removing the need for $ in the deal, and lowering the need to purchase $ to make the sale.,😷

@whowasthatmaskedman It is the BRICS countries at the moment Brazil Russia India China and South Africa but Saudi Arabia and Iran are coming in to the group as well
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@Longleggedlady Exactly.. And Saudi Arabia are looking to join that group officially. 😷
Longleggedlady · 36-40, F
@whowasthatmaskedman So is Iran they are willing to put aside their differences to join it is going to get very interesting and very soon the meetings have already taken place several times in recent weeks
