Why don't we call millions and billions respectively "mega-Euro" (M€) and "giga-Euro" (G€)?

@HannibalAteMeOut One Deci-Euro would be ten cents.
One cent is a centi-euro, which is where the name comes from.
deci=1/10, centi=1/100
1 Centimeter = 1/100 m.

@helenS true true, I wasn't thinking
Yes, I agree, esp. with the British counting by millions & American counting by thousands, the SI prefixes are preferable.

I have used M$ & G$. Of course, the cent is 1 c$, or a tenth of a deci$...

I do, but I encounter difficulties.

@helenS Let's start a micronation together 👌

@Elessar Ten milli-Euros are one cent. Ten Euros are one kilocent.

@helenS That'll be the first article of the µNation's constitution

"No unit shall be above the SI"
