[b]White reggae band silenced by dreadlock row in Switzerland.–[/b]
Swiss reggae band "Lauwarm" was forced to halt a gig after being accused of [i]cultural appropriation[/i] by audience members who complained about two of its white (!) members wearing dreadlocks.
The organiser of the concert in a restaurant in Bern, Switzerland, stopped the performance saying that a number of listeners had complained they felt “uncomfortable” because the band was committing cultural appropriation.

I don’t think people know what cultural appropriation is. It has to be an adaptation that’s disrespectful, exploitive, stereotypical, imperialistic.
Hair is hair. It will go into dreads if it’s thick enough.
It’s funny that it’s the hair and not white dudes doing a decidedly Afro-Caribbean musical form. But if they had gone that route, they’d have to give up blues, jazz, rock and roll…
White people can only play the spoons— or cultural appropriation.
