A friend and I were fishing at night at a remote lake when I saw a bright light above the tree line across the lake. It moved in strange ways, changing direction abruptly. I leaned against a rigid post to make sure it wasn't just my eyes moving, and it was clear that the object was doing things that were aerodynamically impossible. It moved parallel to the horizon for a few seconds and then took off at a sharp 90 degree angle, accelerating to amazing velocity and speeding out of sight.
