Half the "country" though? Half of the United States of America? Or did you mean half the "county"?

@ArishMell It would affect at least half of the continental united states. Mississippi flowed backwards last time. Sand volcanoes erupted all along the fault.

@Tastyfrzz Thankyou. I think I have read about that but quite a while ago.

These days of course any such event would have far worse effects even if no stronger, due to far more people, roads, buildings, etc. along its line.

Unfortunately earthquakes and volcanic eruptions, unlike the weather, is they are notoriously difficult to predict in time and severity.
