A Political Lymric of Remorse

I Told You So
by:Rob Paquin

We’re reaping what we’ve sowed
Paying debtors we don’t owe
We’ve sold it all
We watch the fall
Down the drain we all shall go

I’m too simple when I’m silent
When I speak you say I’m violent
With thoughts unplanned
I’m just a man
Who talks against the tyrants

I’m always plainly speaking
My eyes are always leaking
Each day I cry
As the days go by
Inside I’m simply seething

Because its been over 30 years
That I’ve talked about these fears
I told you so
You said that I didn’t know
But now we’re all right here

In a nation so divided
Since Ross Perot decided
That he would run
He got 20% done
And then they made the raced 2-sided

They passed laws aligned together
And the 2 are tightly tethered
They stole our voice
We have no choice
Just the dark and storming weather

Of a freedom that’s been dying
But people told me I was lying
But the ship’s set sail
It’s all off the rails
And only money does the buying

So pick one of the 2
But either way, you lose
Because its all been fixed
They don’t need more tricks
Just add your name to the abused.
