The world is trying to rid itself of the human element

Remember when we only had one hurricane per year that came close to us but just became a tropical storm?

Remember when tornadoes only went through the central states and mostly Kansas?

Remember when the seasons made sense?

Umm, I'm not sure that is how nature works - but there does exist a certain kind of tragic irony, this year had fewer hurricanes yet those hurricanes wanted to hit the mainland of the US...

(They always hit somewhere before, so I'm not sure the measurement is how they hit the US)
@SW-User i don't believe in God. i think the world is a mystical magical place where things we see as miracles are really just the world doing its thing. we have had plenty of time to completely destroy our resources and change everything natural about this planet and now it is trying to rid itself of the plague that has caused all of its ills.

@LILY61 Yes we have, but you asked a question I can assure you there were fewer hurricanes this year, yet more that hit the US mainland - the countries/islands they hit before are no less worthy of notation yet less prolific. I'm not looking up numbers right now, but 100 dead in say Haiti will not be pronounced as much as 19 dying in Florida.
@SW-User But the hurricanes and tsunamis and tornados are still hitting those smaller islands but now it has turned its vengeance upon us as well. and if you live on an island it is expected to be hit by such catastrophic events every year.

and if you have a million tiny hurricanes that mainly manifest and hang back in the ocean verses a few major ones that take out cities and humans....i would rather have the million tiny ones

@LILY61 There were less this year. It's where they hit that got attention, as media is US centric.
@SW-User because we are so important....it is a shame that people have made us cower from our responsibility as the world police. but when things get really bad, who does everyone turn to?
SW-User
@LILY61 I don't. I rather the US mind it's own business. But I guess that covers my other thought, if 19 people died in Cuba from a hurricane I'd never hear.
@SW-User well, here in America we hear about the 19 people and then we start a Go Fun Me page or write a song about it and have a bunch of famous people record it. Then most of the money goes to the cause....cause that is what we do....

@LILY61 I'm sure, never did I argue that... just the focus. I'm pretty sure those in other countries help others too. Compassion and empathy is hardly unique to America.
@SW-User no, we just think that we are the only ones with compassion so we jump in there first to prove that point...but the point being is that we help anyone and everyone. but not always the correct way. like the Ukraine. What a waste of life! we should have beamed over there as soon as there was trouble and pushed the Russians back immediately. it would have ended that first day.

@LILY61 I'm not sure about that - war is complicated. My point being, other countries can work themselves out. I appreciate Americans helping other Americans here and -that's- really the topic.
@SW-User that wasn't the topic at all! and so you think that Russia will find its way? really? how about China? how about all the Persian type people in the world? HOW ABOUT ISRAEL?

i can't even understand why anyone thinks "things will work out"...."it'll get better"..."things can't get any worse"...none of those are true.
