Did you read about that man who got washed away by hurricane helene?

He held onto a tree for hours before being washed away. Sad. He was 75. His name was Bruce Tipton. His family and neighbors could hear him cry for help for hours but rescuers couldn't get to him.

It's always sad to lose someone. Especially to a natural disaster or violence because they do not expect to be called home to their end. I will stay out of all fairness though the sheriff of Taylor county which is right near my home in Jefferson, told those people a long Keaton Beach that if they did not evacuate go ahead and take a magic marker write your name your birthday and your social security number on your T-shirt so that we can identify your bodies in the morning. People think these storms are a game they are not. A category one or two is doable but when you have a cat 3 plus coming in at the coast that is only 10 ft above sea level it's time to get the f*** out of Dodge. I'm mourned for the family's loss and I don't wish it on anyone but it's just like during hurricane Michael when I did clean up on that storm as well there were a lot of poor souls that thought they could stand down a category 5. That is as massive and violent his nature gets. A storm that obliterates buildings and throws fighter jets around runways like toys is not the time to challenge nature. I said prayer that the old man is in a better place and I feel sorry again for his family's loss yes please people in the future use some damn common sense
@KingofBones1 Yes agree. He was warned and he chose to stay.

@Spoiledbrat it's always sad. And again I don't speak from a place of malice I actually speak from having experience with the first responders having done several rescue swims and retrievals. It's just not a pretty f****** sight

All this BS about AI and how smart we are, but we're no match for the devasting forces around us.
@fun4us2b We sure aren't.
They've looked for his body but haven't found it.

@Spoiledbrat if it was washed away in the tidal surge they probably never will
