Anyone know what these -/+ things do?

I accidentally hit one and the car felt a bit off. It’s my mom’s car and she’ll have a fit if I did something 😅 Help 🤣

Shift up + Shift down -. Listen to the engine, if the engine sounds like its going to take off and you're not getting any faster, shift up.
