The Higgs particle & field provide an explanation for the origin of mass, which has always been an different property.

Look at the Einstein field equations for matter influencing space...but this has been well-known for some time, and work by even Eddington showed that General Relativity can predict measurable results...just like Gravity Probe B...just like gravity waves...

The Higgs mechanism is something I became aware of later, but you are free to think what you will, since you won't read.
