"WhY iS PiCkPoCkEtInG So CoMmOn In EuRoPe bUt UnHeArD oF iN tHe US?"

B*tch, you take the car even to go from the living room to the bathroom, that's why. How are they supposed to picketpocket you?

At most they'll steal your car's catalytic converter.. which, yeah, doesn't usually happen in Europe

When I lived near NYC, where people do walk, we always tried to be "street smart" when visiting Manhattan.

"Don't keep your wallet in your back pocket. Keep some cash in a pocket other than where the wallet is. Keep swinging your arms to brush against your body "

Cause America doesn't have gypsies like me lol

But on the real, US cities are lot more spread out, pick pocketing usually happens in tight crowded areas, in Europe lot of cities population is compact, it's easier to reach in someone's pocket and get their wallet in big crowd, there isn't as many ppl walking around together here cause everyone drives, except certain cities or tourist areas, plus in some states someone catches u going through their pocket theres a good chance you'll end up with a bullet in your head. Also I feel like US on a whole is wealthier, there no need for small time pick pocketing.

Like my UK buddy said , "10 pounds in UK feels like lot of money & ppl are stingy with it, in US people wipe their ass with $10."

Also you basically don't have to worry about it at all in Manhattan walking around.
Elessar · 31-35, M
@DDonde Is it or isn't it a thing in NYC?
DDonde · 36-40, M
@Elessar Not really a thing in NYC as far as I know. I’ve never had to worry about it in crowded areas where I’ve been to.

@NerdyPotato Let's see if they eat the bait 🪤
There are indeed pickpockets here.
They just don’t make the news because being Americans and impatient, folks here would just rather knock you over the head and snatch yo’ sh*t. 😳
Elessar · 31-35, M
@bijouxbroussard I always assumed they'd refrain from pickpocketing over there in fear of being shot 🙈
@Elessar Definitely a risk. 😏
