According to one study that I read, most Americans believe that climate change is real and needs to be addressed, but when asked to rank the issues of importance to them, climate change ranks about seventh.
So lots of people are concerned, but not enough for it to be a deciding factor in how they vote. It's not a priority.
So I suppose most would not be gripped by anxiety about this. I confess that I am not, even though when I think about it, it is alarming.
As for people in other countries, I have no idea. But you might be onto something when it comes to generational difference.

I try to push it to the back of my mind and that gives me anxiety because I don't think that's really the correct way to handle it.
