masterofyou and (stranger than fiction) you are both idiots! There is absolutely no question even among neocons anymore, that climate change DOES exist. Even those who are total science deniers Have accepted thst fact, so give up. What in said was that even if you are willing to admit that only a few percent is from human activity, then we humans, stewards of our environment, should do something about it. The US IS the worlds largest user of carbon, followed by China. Climate change produces hotter summers, colder winters, more rain, loss of polar ice and rising sea levels and increased flooding. If you don't believe me, Google the subject and read the true science, that accepted by virtually all of the scientific community. We are seeing changes in the ecology of the sea, fish coming farther north than ever before. More algal blooms than in recorded history.
This is summer, and summers used to get hot, but this is hotter and the consequences, in terms of such things as forest fires, increases in number and severity of storms, and invasion of insects that carry diseases further north can really not be denied.
This isn't a matter of politics really, it is a matter of survival. We are losing genetic diversity, many more species are becoming extinct than ever before, except for the mass extinction which occurred millions of years ago when the dinosaurs, etc., were wiped out. Perhaps you do not believe in evolution or the science of selection.
There is an economical reason to intervene. Doing things to help.the environment will involve millions of new, high paying, technical jobs. If we continue allow China and European countries to dominate the industries involved, we have noone to blame for our environmental and economic losses. Saying we don't want to dp anything because others won't, is just putting your head into the sand.
