It's still earthquakes here, as well as then.
I imagine in the lower Midwest it's tornadoes. While in the Gulf States and lower east coast it's hurricanes.
I've actually been through all three, in those areas.
Fortunately I've never been through a tidal wave. Or an avalanche.
None of them are jokes or hoaxes. And will only get worse.

@DeWayfarer Indeed, they are no jokes, but the earthquakes, and any tsunami from them, have always been around and always will be, and are outside of any human control.

They are both getting stronger and more frequent. And the ocean water table is rising. That would be the equivalent of a tidal wave.
Notice as well I didn't mention wildfires or drought which both are getting worse. And I have been through two wildfires as well.
The last neither happened as a kid in the same area.
