If you mean renewable solar, wind, hydro and tidal energy, it will will gain momentum rapidly and eventually replace most fossil fuel and nuclear energy generation. It is already by far the cheapest way to produce energy.
However, I believe we've already left the transition too late. The rate of melting of tundra permafrost, glaciers and ice at the poles is now increasing exponentially each year. As the permafrost releases more and more methane, the greenhouse effect becomes a juggernaut with too much momentum.
The most we can now achieve is to somewhat slow the rate of change, to give ourselves a slightly better chance of survival.
I think we're already doomed to global catastrophic extinction by around 2050 - 2100, maybe sooner.

Very positive. Trump won't help, but sheer economics will eventually lead us to abandon fossil fuels.

It never had one, it's just a novelty, rabidly promoted by an irrational minority
