Always remember a lot of the lobbyists in oil & gas used to work in the tobacco industry promoting smoking. The change to renewables will happen but it will be driven by economics particularly as oil and gas supplies dwindle and costs soar. Grid scale storage and grid stability are the two main hurdles.
