Because there is Love and Love and Love etc etc
The Greeks used six different words all meaning Love
Eros (ἔρως):
This refers to passionate, romantic love, often associated with sexual desire and longing.
Philia (φιλία):
This represents brotherly love, friendship, and affection between equals. It's based on shared values and mutual respect.
Storge (στοργή):
This is the love between family members, particularly parents and children, characterized by natural affection and empathy.
Agape (ἀγάπη):
This is considered the highest form of love, an unconditional, selfless love that extends to all. It is often associated with divine love and compassion.
Ludus (lūdus):
This describes playful, flirtatious love, often found in the early stages of a relationship or in friendships with a playful dynamic.
Pragma (πρᾶγμα):
This represents long-standing love, the love that develops over time in a committed relationship, built on understanding, compromise, and shared history.

@KiwiBird it seems like yet another word is needed though for this performer-audience love!

I went to a Metallice concert once, amd they shouted that. I genuinely shouted back "I think we're better as friends"
My date wasn't impressed 🤣

@ThePatientAnarchist I love you too, as a friend.

Yeah, obviously a very loose definition of the word. I tend to use the word love more sparingly, but (I think) with more intent, than most. 🤷♀

From a James Taylor live album:
Random audience member(female): "James I love youuuu!"
JT:(bemused, facetiously) "Good!"
*audience laughs*
JT:"I think it helps us not to know each other...."
