Youtube video too long to up-load

Early this morning I made a special trip at 4.30am to record birdsong for another social network site member who is in hospital.
After 1 hour and 30 minutes uploading I receive this message - "Upload abandoned, video too long"
Hmmm, seems I have to verify my youtube account before I can upload videos longer that 15 minutes.
So, verification done, I will start the process again.
Another 1 hour and 17 minutes to go
