solar, home batteries (grid connected), V2G and VPP - like it? dislike it? got it? don't got it?
I like the tech behind all this, but the mantra I don't.
So called 'green power tech' is driving a big divide - those who have (and/or can afford) such things, and those don't (and/or cannot afford) such things.
I'm in the 'dont got it' camp because I cannot afford to get solar, home batteries, an EV, or subscribe to give up control of my home power setup to a mystery third-party.
If a person has home solar they are 10+x more likely to be interested in an EV, and vice-versa. That means that are much more likely to think about V2G and VPP ideas as good things to adopt.
I'd have to get a loan to get solar/batteries, buy an EV outright (no way will I ever lease one), and I don't like the idea of having energy stored in my EV (if I had one) or home solar battery system (if I had one) being taken back to power someone else's home electricity system.
What are your thoughts about all this?
