I love my UPS battery backups and just being prepared for power outages

We're having some strong, sustained winds, not gusts, winds, all day. Power went out a little bit ago, only for about 4 minutes, but the nice thing is that I don't see any interruption on some of our devices.

I use a 1500 XPS APC brand Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) for my computer and monitors, and a Cyber Power 900VA UPS on the Modem/Router all in one device. So when power goes out we've got roughly 40 more minutes of internet and I get a good 15 to 20 minutes more on the computer before I have to shut down.

What's also nice is I have an old 3 tier lamp that each bulb is a battery backup bulb. The lamp itself is also plugged into the UPS. So when you run the bulbs on electricity, it's charging the battery that is inside the bulb. Looking at this scenario, power goes out, the APC UPS device will run for about 200 something minutes before it runs out of battery. During this time I turn on the 3 bulbs in that 3 tier lamp so that they get some charge. Then once the APC is done, each bulb will last me 4 hours. So with all 3 bulbs that's 12 hours of light, not including the 2 LED light switch things I have mounted high up on the walls, and those take 4, AAA batteries each.

For charging my cellphone I finally got smart and bought a 50,000 mah Energizer battery bank. It's fast charging and shows an actual percentage on a small screen instead of 4 dots. You can get 4 or 5 full phone charges from this one battery bank. It's nice to be prepared for power outages as I used to have to go to my car to charge my phone, maybe I'd only charge up by 10% or something at a time, it definitely was a hassle.

I am in Massachusetts, and experiencing the same storm. We lost power a minute ago...but thankfully everything came right back on again.

@Lilnonames the first one I'd gotten lasted me about 7 years. then I had to go to battery warehouse and got a brand new battery. granted, it doesn't have that green sticker on it, but once you know the orientation of how the battery actually goes in, it's fine.
