The Electric Company Announced Another Fee Tacked Onto Our Bills…Fuel Surcharge….3 Increases In 3 Months…

They say this one will average $10 a month. Wonder what the next few months will bring?

Remember a long long time ago when the USA was energy independent and actually eas a major net exporter of energy. Oh wait, that was only 3 years ago 🤔
Crazywaterspring · 61-69, M
@Riverman2 That's deregulation. Higher prices, unreliable service and clueless CEOs complaining about "being competitive."
Nimbus · M
Just waiting for someone to charge us for the air we breathe! :(
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Nimbus Seems like after they suck all the $ we have out of us they’ll suck our breath out of us too.
Crazywaterspring · 61-69, M
@Nimbus They can't meter it. Yet.
AbbeyRhode · F
Yep, and under the heel of the Biden regime, it will only get worse.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@AbbeyRhode I’m going to order some heavy thick blankets. We will have to dress warmer and drink hot drinks etc. I guess.
Riverman2 · 56-60, M
I know, right? I burn more snd more wood every year to use less and less electric but my billl stays the same. Their price increases keep pace with my diminished usage. 😠
Riverman2 · 56-60, M
@Ontheroad Yep. They send out literature all the time on how to cut back on usage to save money. What they really mean is save THEM money. Now to be fair, I don't know if maybe their cost of production really has gone up that much,?
Ontheroad · M
@Riverman2 It has, but I don't think that is the underlying problem. They operate on the "fat cat" principle. They budget for x millions income and spend every dime of it and then if the consumer underutilizes, their budget gets hit. Their solution is to increase rates.
Riverman2 · 56-60, M
@Ontheroad Probably right.
4meAndyou · F
Wouldn't it be nice if it included a 30 percent immediate cost of living increase from Social Security? That's about the only thing that will save some families from the criminals running our government.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@4meAndyou The COLA they had last year wasn’t even half of the real inflation. They’ll probably do the same this year.
4meAndyou · F
@cherokeepatti We received 5% last year, and they are saying that it MIGHT be 11% this year.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@4meAndyou if inflation is 30% they’ll tell us to be grateful for 11%
therighttothink50 · 56-60, M
It most likely will be used to fund the leftist agenda. All these utility bills have on them: add on taxes, fees and surcharges that fund leftist tyranny.

We do not pay enough attention of how the left uses deception, illusion and the use of words and language to advance their agenda and the demise of the middle class. These charges are not necessary and most likely only fund evil leftist politicians.

What they call a fuel surcharge probable means money going to the climate cult cronies.
Thank your nearest Tesla driver for adding on another WHOLE HOUSE worth of drain and strain on the grid.
Dacrowman · 70-79, M
Just think you guys lucky you don't live in UK , our gas/electric has doubled ,at least, in last 6 months ☹️.
I payed £75 per month at beginning of year in March/April it went up to £120 and from 1 Oct. It is now £160 😢😢
Riverman2 · 56-60, M
@Dacrowman Zowee. That's awful.
nedkelly · 61-69, M
I just received not from my electricity provider, it will increase by 25% as from November 2022
MarineBob · 56-60, M
Every utility truck i see is just sitting therebrunning wasting fuel
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@MarineBob They need to stop that.
therighttothink50 · 56-60, M
They want the dummies to buy solar panels so they can fund the CCP army and the US citizens demise.
SW-User
Yeah
Who da thunk that most power generation incorporates fossil fuels
icedsky · 51-55, M
Throw over an extension cord I'll plug you in
Azlotto · M
Same here...This sh!t just keeps gettin better.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Azlotto we had a good corporation commissioner who would fight to help keep the prices from rising too much. He stepped down and was replaced and then the fun began. I have to wonder why he stepped down, if there was some reason or if he was lured away with a better offer somewhere else. They never tell the whole story if that happens.
