@Barny52 We don't have a TV or sky ☺️The washing machine used to be switched on at the wall all the time coz socket was behind it but I dragged it out, used extension lead to plug it in somewhere accessible so it could go off unless in use 👍

@Fluffybull not much to leave on then !! Mother in law’s gas and electric as gone up from £60 a month to £170 since last August !!

@Barny52 We're pretty economical users anyway but switching off lights, using shorter, cooler wash cycles, etc can really make a difference ☺️

@Fluffybull didn’t think of washer, I’ve started writing down cost per day off smart meter to try and see what using most, looks like showing and oven plus tv so I’ve stopped having that on in a morning .

@Barny52 We've never had a smart meter. Quite glad now what with all the horror stories about faulty ones! 😱

@Fluffybull not heard of any faults on them think we will all have them soon the electric company’s can make all the meter readers redundant ,, like self service check out thats to get rid of staff !

@Barny52 I read our meter and email the figures every quarter. They do send people to read meters from some contracted company every so often but apparently that's to check customers haven't been lying on their readings ....😉
