@NickiHijab Back in the day, it was a common punishment for foul language.

@Keepitsimple @chrisCA eh.. Rather excessive and quite clearly an old school way of disciplining. I suppose it was the norm then.

@NickiHijab Much of what parents, and teachers, did back then would not be allowed today.

@chrisCA A lot of what they did wasn't officially allowed back then but nobody really cared, especially in the case of boys. It's only now that these historic abuse cases are coming to light.

@Sharon I am sure there were some sadists in the schools back then.
