My money is on no.

Unless we can agree on the concept of "Truth" , I doubt it. Trumps Cult like mentality makes it a clash of science and religion, with Trump moving in mysterious ways.
I don't play dumb. I either am or am not. @Randy4944

Anything is possible if both sides are willing to listen and not let their biased views lead them to overtake the conversation into one lane referenced ideals.

(civil) being the word is crucial in a world filled with opposing views
1455spd · 31-35, M
Not on here, I'd say. People don't really have the discipline to look at serious topics critically, and that includes politics.

The internet facilities circle-jerking and the instant gratification of getting likes and support from people that already hold your beliefs. Skeptics and centrists get drowned out by the tribalist echo-chamber that people rely on to reinforce their views.

Nobody cares about what's actually right, just about feeling right
@1455spd I resent that thought! Just kidding... I hear you, see you, and raise you five thoughtfulness chips!
1455spd · 31-35, M
@KayraJordyn Lol. It's just my personality more than anything else. I overthink basically everything and can't commit to any ideology. I'm always playing devil's advocate and poking holes in people's ideas. Even my own. Not to be an asshole, but just to explore other options. I never really settle on anything unless the evidence for it holds up to all scrutiny

I kinda need thoughtful people around because there's no telling which direction I'll go in
Well as long as you're predictable! 😂 I hear you though. We should ALWAYS ask questions, until real answers come our way! @1455spd

Yes. I made friends with a Trump supporter, and she's pretty chill.

@GeistInTheMachine Who is it, if you don’t mind my asking?

@SW-User Heh. I understand the sentiment.

Can't sleep, huh?
SW-User
@GeistInTheMachine I'm binge watching Vikings.
GeistInTheMachine · 31-35, M
@SW-User That sounds good. Haven't seen you in a while. I hope you're well.
Yes. If people leave their egos at the door, embrace the possible, and listen.
You have that problem, eh? Glad I'm not -just- "abrasive" or just "too nice". That would just OVERWHELM someone with your disposition. @Randy4944

Are you secretly Joe Giudice, and how do you have access to the internet?
Donald Duck? He's a real character

Over a few bodies.
Dlrannie · 31-35, F
Theoretically it should be possible but the reality seems to indicate otherwise
SW-User
@Dlrannie People want to shove their different views and opinions down each other's throats instead of just accepting them.
Dlrannie · 31-35, F
@SW-User Indeed - ignorant intolerance sadly
Peaceful · F
Sure. I've had plenty. To be fair, they usually aren't from America or they are a good friend.

We can have loads of civil discussions about Trump, just not with Trump supporters.
InvaderNice · 26-30, M
With me, yes. With 99% of others online, no. Lol.
Moosepantspatty · 31-35, M
Sure, whats your opinion?
Tuscan · 70-79, M
having a discussion about any third party, who is not present to defend themselves, can be many things but it will never be civil.
SW-User
A civil discussion? What's that?
MasterLee · 56-60, M
Not from rabid liberals or cnn sheep
Justenjoyit · 61-69, M
It gives people something to moan about for 5 mins, maybe takes the heat off their lives.
It’s possible but not easy. I see rabid Trump supporters as enemies, tbh.
