My friend keeps saying "cheer up man it could be worse, you could be stuck underground in a hole full of water"

Dad's are weird. I was having a nice conversation with mine then he randomly says when your cats die don't get new ones. I was like wth

My friend said “Smile, things could be worse”.
So I smiled and, sure enough, things got worse. 😕
