I have gone from the center of his universe to the reason that everything has gone wrong in his life.

It’s funny. I used to actually believe that everything was my fault. Now I can see the manipulation for what it is.

Typical young man syndrome. Can't take criticism and goes way overboard trying verbally to retaliate against it. Lacks emotional self control and carrys excessive amounts of easily bruised undeserved pride.

You on the other hand are probably patient, brave, tactful thoughtful and forgiving and very prudent about revealing any of his flaws to strangers or even friends, right?
