I do intermittent fasting, although I vary according to my moon cycle.
I believe the biggest benefit of IF is the way our bodies produce and use insulin. Eating just twice a day (or less) with long windows of fasting in between ensures our bodies do not keep producing insulin and uses up the energy from our food intake efficiently. This keeps our bodies in a state of insulin sensitivity. The opposite of insulin sensitivity is insulin resistance which is the underlying cause of so many diseases as well as obesity.
