Not unless they feel the need to constantly show off their erudition to stoke the fires of their own egos.
@ChipmunkErnie Those of us with true intellect depise those fakers, you'd be surprised by how many real scientists despise Neil DeGrasse Tyson, because he never shuts up and constantly tries to show all of them up, he is nothing but a bloviating buffoon.

@NativePortlander1970 But a very intelligent buffoon. Intelligence is no guarantor of social competence.
@ChipmunkErnie Tyson is nothing but a bloviating pretentious narcissist, one whose own peers cannot stand.

@NativePortlander1970 All of which, while probably true -- can't say, not knowing him personally -- doesn't mean he's not intelligent, too.
@ChipmunkErnie Intelligence doesn't always make a person smart, nor humble - My Grandfather, 1989.
@ChipmunkErnie In case you're wondering, my Grandfather had an IQ of 170, was a member of Mensa when it was still a prestegious organization, held four patents, and was published in numerous trade papers for home architectural drafting, electronics engineering, and computer programming. He would have been 97 this year.

@ChipmunkErnie Just like Professor Stephen Hawking, my Grandfather hated braggarts, that it cheapened accomplishments.
