Yes and no. After menopause, many women do experience changes in their sexual lives, but not in a single predictable way: for some, desire falls, for others it feels much the same, and for a minority it actually increases, especially once periods and pregnancy worries are gone.
Physical shifts driven by falling hormones (like less lubrication, thinner tissues, and slower arousal) can make sex less comfortable or reliable, which in turn affects how inviting it feels. At the same time, psychological factors—body image, mood, stress, relationship quality—can either dampen or enhance interest.
Men also change with age, but more gradually, as testosterone slowly declines rather than “switching off” the way ovulation does, so women’s experience often feels more abrupt and disruptive by comparison. That difference in timing and intensity can create a sense of disconnect, even though both partners are dealing with their own version of mid‑life sexual change.

@zonavar68 Yes, I’m sorry to say that it does happen a lot.
And it can get worse. She loses interest in having sex with you, but she doesn’t want you having sex with anybody else, either.
This is a trap that many men fall into without even realising it. And it’s one that very rarely gets discussed..

I’ve heard that it does. I’m still having regular cycles so idk but we did have a lady who rented a room in our house, and her door was constantly revolving in her 50s.
